We believe that as a personal training client you are trusting us with the care of your body, and we take that responsibility very seriously. Personal training is not about motivation, or "special workouts", personal training is about YOU. You have goals and it is our responsibility to get you there in the amount of time that we decided. We feel our responsibility to you does not end with the exercise hour: rather, reaching your goals, whatever they may be will require more changes in your life than can be accomplished in two or three hours a week. And you're going to need help with realistic ways to change your diet to yield results, how to find the time, and when added together will only accelerate your progress. Every Certified Personal Trainer also has their own specialty, including:
Weight Management
We have two goals and they are: 1) Get the weight off in the amount of time agreed upon in the most pleasant way possible, and 2) Teach you to be self sufficient so that you don't need us anymore. And that means in all areas: Diet, Exercise, the works.
Prenatal/Postnatal
Your body is going through miraculous changes and having a professional there to help you stay healthy thorough out means a healthy mom AND a healthy baby. The less your put on before the baby gets here, the less to take off after.
Seniors
Movement can HURT, or it can HELP. What is needed is a professional that knows the difference and understands what ails you, and more importantly, knows how to make you FEEL BETTER. This is an investment in your health and quality of life.
Corrective Exercise
Muscles support the skeleton. Imbalances in those muscles can result in everything from pain in the knee joint to postural deviations that end up causing ruptured discs. Stretching and strengthening the right combination of muscles will correct postural deviations, which in many cases, is the source of your pain or injury. Common ailments such as sciatic nerve pain can be relieved. Hip and knee replacement "prehabilitation" works wonders. We welcome your doctor's input and involvement in developing the plan that's best for you... and if it's not safe or what we do can't help you, we'll refer you to a doctor who can.
Sports Conditioning
Every sport is a series of movements. Being able to perform those movements with more power, faster, with fewer incidences of injury is required to reach your goal. It is for this reason, that we "train the movement, not the muscle." Raw strength is meaningless if you are too slow to use it effectively on the field. Power is useless without control. Each movement required on the field is a series of muscular contractions, in a SPECIFIC ORDER. Training the muscles in the way they are asked to work on the field results in improved performance. Failing to do so can result in improvement in "gym performance", yet not on the field. An example would be that when choosing between the leg press and squats... only one will make you jump higher... And we help you understand why. Every action and movement that is required of you is thouroughly analyzed and we custom design a plan that encapsulates the entire year, whether you train with us that long or not. If you weren't born with a body custom designed for your sport, we build you one. We have had experience working with many atheletes of all ages, some as young as 10 years old. We provide the equipment and the trainers. Some of your kids are strong, but slow. Others are skilled, but out of shape. Some are fast, but weak. We go to work on the problems and find the solutions.
